National and international responses have been wholly inadequate. Nations are not meeting goals set under the Paris climate accord, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the UN Sustainable Development Program. On the positive side, many examples of our work exist of successful interventions at smaller scales to protect animals and habitats. So, together with your support, we can continue making astonishing progress for animals and humanity.
Our goal is to effectively contribute to protect 50 percent of the rainforest and 30 percent of the ocean by 2030. The call for 30 percent marine protection is part of securing a healthy ocean, where marine parks enhance fisheries and sound fisheries management enhances biodiversity conservation. Same with rainforests, where indigenous tribes are managing and protecting their vast homelands.
